Roar 4 Change’s 1st Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji Award goes to Dr. Sohinder (Bir) Singh. Dr. Sohinder (Bir) Singh has been the professor at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Dr. Singh’s Phd topic has been Poetry of Shiv Kumar: Study in Genres & Themes, 1983.
Roar 4 Change has started a yearly award on the work of Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji globally for all ages. The award is to bring Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji work and literature closer to our heart. This is a yearly award and all the entries received by December each year are evaluated and the winners will receive a FREE trip to USA or Canada for presenting their writeup in of the selected conferences.

About Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji
Shri Shiv Kumar Batalvi Ji is Punjab’s first modern poet who may be called Birha da Sultan (the poet of lament), but his genre wasn’t limited to pathos. His writings till to-date is a replete with passion, true love and the agony. Batalvi Ji is the youngest-ever recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award for his epic verse play Loona in 1967 and has about 10 publications to his credit besides several articles, some of which were published later by his wife, Smt. Aruna Batalvi Ji.
